This is our first year participating as thankfully the guys over at BCI and Bill over at ATL Eagle apparently didn't piss off the powers that be to put a further ban on BC voters, so we're in. Here is MY preliminary ballot. Wesley still has to weigh in (as do you, our readers!).
Leave your comments below and we'll strongly take them into consideration!

Really?!?! Georgia Tech that high? Come on now.
ReplyDeleteA lot of respect for Paul Johnson and more over the pain in the ass that is attempting to stop his offense. Where would you put them? Make a good argument and we'll push them down.
ReplyDeleteI would also say that G-Tech is too high. They lost two of there best offensive players (Dwyer and Thomas). I don't think the offense will be good enough to put up the gaudy numbers they did last year and their offense kept them in a lot of games last season. Dwyer was really key to there offense. We are talking about a guy that ran for 1,395 yards and 14 TDs last year. I am not sure Anthony Allen will be able to just step in where Dwyer left off. On defense the Jackets lost Derrick Morgan and the other Morgan, Morgan Burnett. In my (humble) opinion, Georgia Tech has too a lot of quetion marks. The could be good but they still don't have a defense and they lost some key offensive players. That isn't a recipe for success, I don't even think of them as a top 25 team at this point.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, Ohio State #9? They looked awfully good in the Rose Bowl.
All in all, not a bad ranking- I would put Nebraska higher Pelini knows how to coach 'em up.
oops, I meant their in the second sentence :)
ReplyDeleteand third line, I need to work on my spelling I guess!
ReplyDeleteOne question, why is Georgia absent from your top 25?
ReplyDeleteGT has to go to UNC, to Clemson, to VT, and to Georgia this year. I just don't see them escaping any of those games and we all know that their offensive scheme can lose to just about any half-decent defense on any given day. I'd rank GT below UNC and probably right around the FSU area.
ReplyDeleteI'd put Georgia Tech's game against Miami down as a loss too.
ReplyDeleteOkay, well I moved down GT a good bit already, I'll knock them down another couple.
ReplyDeleteRe: UGA, I need to see what the new D-Coord do and new QB do. If they're legit and they're a top 25 team we'll rank them as such, but we're not going to give free passes to just anyone in the SEC :)
Agreed Mike, although inperfect, I like our final top 25
